Synopsis

Why do you do this work? Do you feel valued as a farmer? Why are there fewer and fewer women working the land? Laura travelled 3,635 kilometres through sparsely populated areas of Spain asking these questions to women farmers and herders, and this show is that journey: a notebook full of illustrations, objects, food and six interviews across six different regions. Stories of rural women and men — a former film location scout turned farmer, a shepherdess who decides to sell her flock, a farmer's granddaughter reclaiming abandoned terraces — that invite us to reflect on our roots, as part of Festival Utópolis.
